Tutoring

-a Korean-owned ESL company that mainly caters Koreans (adults); provides a one-to-one audio-only class

  • This is a Korean-owned online ESL platform that mainly caters Koreans of all ages (majority of learners are adults)
  • Originally, they only have audio-only classes but very recently they started offering classes where camera is required and it’s for young learners only (as of 2022). If you prefer the audio-only class, then you can do so.
  • You have the freedom to choose your working time. So if you log in to your teacher account, all you need to do is select ‘’Standby’’ which is by the way equivalent to ‘’online’’. This means that you’re available and can cater to students at any time.
  • You’ll see who are the online people (teachers and students) coz it will pop up on your screen. On the students’ end, they’ll see who’s the available tutor to call.
  • When a student calls you, you’ll be notified immediately coz there’ll be a ring tone and you must answer it immediately—that’s how it works. You’ll be paid per minute of conversation with the student regardless if it was cut off or otherwise.
  • There are students who will send you a message first before calling you but usually they just ring you whenever they feel like it.
  • Lesson materials are provided and you’ll know the topic that the student chooses coz it’s will show on your screen. If it isn’t the case then you can just simply ask the student. More often than not, they request for a free talk.
  • Learners can leave a review of their experience which will then appear on the company’s website or you’ll see it on your profile. They either give a rating or leave a comment (usually when they’re extremely satisfied or dissatisfied).
  • Rate for Filipinos range from $3-$4.5; Native Speakers from the USA/CA/AU/NZ/UK/Ireland starts at $10 up to $14 per hour
  • One class is equal to 20 minutes but students have the option to extend up to three times, and if the call suddenly got disconnected or the student needed to stop the class, then the teacher will still be paid based on the duration of call. It won’t be taken against the teacher.
